ROLE INTRO
We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on AWS to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to collaborate with internal software engineers, system operators, and other IT staff members to manage and optimize code releases within a suite of cloud-based software applications. You will be instrumental in bridging the gaps between development, testing, and operations teams, aiding in the integration of new systems, managing AWS-based infrastructure, and overseeing the deployment and maintenance of applications on AWS.
As a DevOps Engineer, you must be adaptable to the fast-paced nature of the tech industry, where changes in requirements, goals, strategies, and emerging AWS technologies are common. The role requires you to interact, develop, engineer, and communicate effectively at technical levels with clients, vendors, partners, and all stakeholders. Your key objective will be to automate and streamline our clients’ software application suite on AWS, including the specification and documentation of new features and the ongoing maintenance of critical business applications.
The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge combined with excellent interpersonal skills. A strong understanding of AWS services, cloud-based applications, and the ability to diagnose and resolve application issues in an AWS environment are essential.
REQUIREMENTS
- Extensive work experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar software engineering role, with a strong focus on AWS.
- Deep knowledge of AWS services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation, or ECS/EKS for container management.
- Experience with container orchestration services, especially Kubernetes, within AWS (EKS).
- Proven experience with agile software development processes and languages such as Go, C/C++, Java, or JavaScript.
- Experience administering and deploying development CI/CD tools, particularly in AWS environments, such as AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and Jenkins on AWS.
- Significant experience with both Windows and Linux operating system environments, particularly within AWS EC2 instances.
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Experience with infrastructure scripting solutions such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Working knowledge of AWS database services and SQL, including RDS, DynamoDB, and Aurora.
- Strong problem-solving attitude and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Communication skills in English B2
