Ruby Senior Software Engineer

R Systems is looking for a talented and passionate Ruby Senior Software Engineer to join our growing team focused on software development for the telecom industry.

Position Summary

As a Ruby developer, you'll design/implement software solutions based on customer needs and requirements. Our software engineers work together to build and support our web-based software applications and they play an active role in the evolution of the product. Role & Responsibilities:

• Lead the creation, development, and implementation of critical system design changes, enhancements, and software projects;
• Ensure timely execution of project deliverables;
• Work with other engineers to ensure the system and product is consistent and aligned through all processes;
• Improve product quality, performance, and security through substantial process improvements;
• Follow development standards and promote best practices;
• Perform code review sessions & suggest improvements or alternatives when appropriate.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of software development experience with a strong background in Ruby on Rails
• Proficient in writing SQL queries against a relational database
• Comfortable operating in a Linux environment
• Experience in REST and effective web services design
• Experience with version control systems, such as Git
• Nice to have - Front-end development experience with Backbone.js and JavaScript
