Manual QA Engineer

We are looking for a Manual QA Engineer to join a team dedicated to enhancing the functionality of an internal application for our partners at Inther Group – a Dutch company specializing in high-speed unit sortation systems for warehousing and distribution.

As a Manual QA Engineer at Inther, you will contribute to the development, delivery, and monitoring of the quality of the software for Inther Group's integrated logistics solutions across Europe.

What are you going to do?

• Manually test the delivered (partial) software with a primary focus on background processes; user interface testing may also be required depending on the specific test case;
• Collaborate with the development team to discuss defects, clarify details, and provide context to help understand the issue and its conditions;

• Detect and report bugs in alignment with the company’s established practices, with an openness to understand and adapt to our specific workflows and standards;

• Analyse functional specifications to draft clear and thorough test plans and test cases that cover both typical and edge scenarios;
• Monitor software quality and usability on an ongoing basis, collaborate with fellow QAs to analyse test results, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the product;
• Conduct in-house as well as on-site testing at the client's location;
• When needed, support the client by providing training in preparation for User Acceptance Testing (UAT), demonstrating openness and adaptability.
• While not initially mandatory, the role will gradually involve creating and maintaining automated tests using BDD (Cucumber) within the established framework;
• In time, and based on demonstrated reliability, take on responsibilities such as estimating, prioritizing, planning, and coordinating quality testing activities.          

What do we expect from you?

• 2+ years of experience as a professional tester;
• In-depth knowledge of Manual Testing (manual test writing, test plan, test scenario, test cycle);
• Some experience in testing Web Services and using tools such as Selenium;
• Good English communication skills, both spoken and written;
• Open-minded, result-oriented, and highly self-motivated person;
• Analytical skills, eager to improve, and establish the quality of the delivery;
• Able to meet deadlines and objectives without constant management;
• Basic knowledge of SQL, PostgreSQL, Postman, Jenkins, GIT, IntelliJ IDEA;
• Be open to occasional on-site visits to our headquarters in the Netherlands and to customer premises, depending on project needs;
• Demonstrate accountability by taking ownership of assigned work and driving it to completion with attention to detail and reliability;
• Experience with Java and automated testing is a plus; willingness to learn is appreciated.
