For the upcoming “Strengthening Trust, Integrity, and Compliance in and between SMEs and Public Sector in Moldova“ (STIC) project, tendered by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), we are looking for a results-oriented and innovative Legal and Compliance Expert.

Short information about the project 
Helvetas is seeking a results-oriented and innovative Legal and Compliance Expert to potentially join the "Strengthening Trust, Integrity, and Compliance in and between SMEs and Public Sector in Moldova" (STIC) project team. This initiative, tendered by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), aims to enhance the relationship between SMEs and the public sector in Moldova by addressing mistrust, reducing bureaucratic complexity, and fostering a culture of transparency and innovation. The project will support sustainable economic development and align with the government's efforts to combat corruption and streamline business processes. The position is contingent upon Helvetas being awarded the tender.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Bring legal expertise in the fields of anti-corruption, integrity, and compliance.
• Ensure that dialogues are aligned with local and international legal frameworks.
• Support the team leader in facilitating constructive dialogue on technical legal issues.
• Act as a neutral, impartial, and non-partisan facilitator in discussions.

Key Competencies

• Excellent legal analysis skills with expertise in anti-corruption laws, integrity, and compliance frameworks in Moldova and the EU.
• Strong facilitation skills and the ability to enable constructive dialogue.
• Reputation as a neutral, impartial, and non-partisan expert.
• High work ethic, reliability, and integrity, and excellent interpersonal (social) skills;
• Fluent in Romanian, Russian, and English.

Education and experience

• University degree in a relevant field;
• At least 10 years of demonstrated experience working in legal analysis involving governance, anti-corruption, and compliance topics in Moldova.
