Mig/mag/tig welder

Position Overview:

We are seeking a versatile and skilled Allround Welder who specializes in either MIG/MAG or TIG welding processes. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in welding techniques, a strong attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality welds. This role plays a critical part in our manufacturing team, contributing to the fabrication of metal components used in diverse applications.



Responsibilities:

- Perform high-quality welding using the selected process (MIG/MAG or TIG) to join metal components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards.

- Select appropriate welding equipment, filler materials, and protective gear for each job to achieve optimal weld quality and structural integrity.

- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to determine welding requirements and parameters.

- Set up welding equipment, including adjustments of voltage, current, and gas flow, to ensure consistent and precise welds.

- Operate welding machines, torches, and related tools safely and efficiently to execute various welding tasks.

- Prepare and clean metal surfaces prior to welding, ensuring proper fit-up and alignment of workpieces.

- Inspect and assess welded joints for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to quality standards, making necessary adjustments as needed.

- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to provide input on weldability and feasibility of designs, as well as troubleshoot any welding-related issues.

- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of welding equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to create a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.

- Maintain accurate records of welding activities, materials used, and work hours.



Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent technical certifications or vocational training in welding is preferred.

- Proven experience as an Allround Welder specializing in either MIG/MAG or TIG welding.

- Proficiency in welding techniques and a strong understanding of metal properties and behavior during welding.

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.

- Solid knowledge of welding equipment setup, operation, and maintenance.

- Proficient in the safe use of welding tools, machinery, and personal protective equipment (PPE).

- Strong attention to detail and the ability to consistently produce high-quality welds with minimal defects.

- Basic mathematical and measurement skills for accurate fit-up and alignment.

- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
