ICT Support Engineer

Who we are
We are Cloud4x, an Australian Managed Services Provider (MSP) seeking an all-round Senior ICT Engineercapable of implementing, maintaining and monitoring networks, infrastructure and PaaS platforms like M365 and having productivity and automation knowledge and experience. This role involves close communication with our support helpdesk, R&D, project and escalation teams. You will be reporting to our Head of Business Development and CTO as needed.

Whom we need:
After several years of uninterrupted growth, we need to grow our overseas based team with an experienced cross-disciplined Senior ICT engineer. This role will work on exciting and new projects, assist in the design, build and support of complex networks and infrastructures for customers and internally. The selected candidate will work closely with our Solution Architects on projects such as:
  • AWS | Azure and Private Cloud services in the IaaS and PaaS space
  • Automation and data analytics
  • Medium and large scale modern management projects, migrating organisations to utilise Microsoft 365 technologies and platforms
We already employ engineers of this calibre in Israel, Georgia and Argentina; and as such we have a well-functioning and reliable, collaborative workflow across projects and support.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the re-architecture of platforms and lead migration. projects to move key applications to Azure Cloud, Microsoft 365, and AWS.
  • Design, build and support internal client networks and systems over the full infrastructure stack: Network, Server, Storage & Virtualisation.
  • Provide high quality documentation post project ensuring smooth transition to BAU for Service Desk team.
  • Monitor alerts in our monitoring systems, assess criticality of issues, address and resolve as required.
Technologies:
This role will work across the following technologies, and we would expect applicants to be familiar with multiple (but not all) of these:
  • OS (Windows desktop, Windows Server, Linux, macOS) + common application stacks on them (Active Directory, RemoteApp, etc)
  • Microsoft AD, Azure AD, Office 365, Intune/Endpoint Manager
  • Storage (NAS, SAN, SDS)
  • Virtualisation: VMware, Hyper-V, Docker
  • Backup (Local, Cloud)
  • Public Cloud (AWS, Azure)
Requirements:
  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting solutions across multiple of the above technologies
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and select solutions
  • Experience in project management and service-oriented architecture
  • Attention to detail
  • Background in MSPs preferred
  • Appropriate certifications would be preferable but is not required
  • Excellent spoken & written English
  • Spoken & written Russian is a plus

  • Firewalls - Palo Alto, pfSense
  • Servers – HP, Dell, Lenovo
  • OS – Microsoft, Apple
  • Productivity – O365 – all Endpoint Management Tools within (Automation, Security, SSO. Etc)
  • Virtualisation – VMware
  • Wireless – Unifi, Meraki
  • SD-Wan – Peplink, VeloCloud
  • VoIP – 3CX
We require awareness and understanding to some of the above or similar. Some exposure on some of Technologies like Routing protocols, VMware, Voice (SIP trunks), Storage, Azure AD is a Bonus
 
Working Hours:
  • You will be required to work five days per week.
  • Your time of work will be 7pm-3am Australian Eastern Standard Time (with quarterly adjustment for daylight savings)
  • You will work on a contract basis, and you will be provided
    • An equivalent amount of public holidays (to be taken at your convenience) as the number of holidays annually, in the state of NSW (12 in 2024).
    • 20 business days per year in annual leave.
    • 10 business days per year in sick leave.
